The invention relates to an air motor (1) with one (8) or more rotors (6, 7) and with an inner (2) and an outer casing (3) and an outlet collecting chamber (13) arranged between them, which is connected by way of an air outlet passage (5) to the outside atmosphere (4). The object of the invention is to create an air motor of the abovementioned type which, in contrast to known air motors, has a sound intensity of less than 92dB. This object is essentially achieved in that an outlet prechamber (10) is provided between the rotor (8) (in the case of a rotating piston air motor) or the rotors (6, 7) (in the case of a gear motor) and the inner housing (3), and in the direction of rotation (arrows 15) of the rotor(s) (6, 7, 8) lunate grooves (11), known in the art, widening in the direction of the outlet prechamber (10) are arranged in the wall (12) of the inner housing (2), and in that a relatively thick-walled and closely meshed screen (14) is arranged between the outlet prechamber (10) and the outlet collecting chamber (13). <IMAGE> |
