PURPOSE:To give attention to the desired knowledge with high efficiency by adding an auxiliary label related to the visual point where the relevant link is validated to each link in a network showing the knowledge and furthermore changing the link to be referred to in response to the present viewpoint. CONSTITUTION:A knowledge network is shown by many nodes and the links set among these nodes. In this case, not only a label (link name) showing its original meaning but an auxiliary label related to a viewpoint where the relevant label is validated are provided to each link. The viewpoint is defined as the gathering of these auxiliary labels. In other words, the auxiliary label shows the viewpoint, e.g., a public character and a private individual are shown by the auxiliary labels (a) and (b) respectively. A specific viewpoint to be used to a question is decided by an inference engine 2 in an analysis mode of sentence structure and can be designated to a viewpoint changing part 3. For instance, a fact that Mr. X is absent on Sundays can be reasoned to a question 'When is Mr. X absent?' in terms of a viewpoint of a public character.
