A process for manufacturing a lithographic printing plate is herein disclosed and the process comprises the steps of: applying a layer comprising microcapsules which comprise a photopolymerizable monomer and/or a light-sensitive resin, subjecting the applied layer to imagewise exposure to light, and the heating the exposed layer of the microcapsules. The process for manufacturing lithographic printing plate makes it possible to obtain lithographic printing plate having a high resolution, the image areas of which are highly oleophilic and the non-image areas of which are free from stains.
