PURPOSE:To lighten the thermal damage of resin pipes and improve the installation rigidity of the subsidiary parts onto metal pipe 5 by forming a suction pipe in division from the resin pipes connected with a surge tank and the metal pipes connected with a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:An intake device is equipped with a surge tank 1 for suppressing the pulsation of intake and a suction pipe 2 which communicates to the surge tank 1 and extends to the cylinder side. In this case, the suction pipe 2 is formed in division from the resin pipes in the corresponding number to the cylinders which extend into nearly C-figure form continuously to the surge tank 1 and the metal pipes 5 in the corresponding number to the cylinders which are connected with a cylinder head 4. Therefore, when the cylinder head 4 is heated to obtain a high temperature, the thermal deformation of the resin pipe 3 can be suppressed in comparison with the conventional intake device in which the whole intake passage is made of synthetic resin. Further, the installation regidity of a variety of subsidiary parts such as a fuel injection valve 18 and a bracket 13 onto the metal pipe 5 can be improved.
