The acoustical route-plotting device for cooperative mobiles according to the invention comprises a processing centre (13, 14) situated on board a ship (2) for example and connected by a radio channel to a surface buoy (10). This surface buoy is connected to a string of identical submerged beacons (11) connected in series with a coaxial cable (110). The beacons (11) are interrogated via the surface buoy and the cable using a single interrogation message, each beacon repeating the interrogation message intended for the next beacon. The responses from each of the beacons likewise return, staggered in time, through the cable. Means are provided in order that the bodies of the beacons may be recovered and possibly reused, the cable and the anchoring chains remaining at the bottom. The invention applies in particular to the locating of marine and/or underwater mobiles for short periods, and at varied sites.

|
