<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a high speed and high contrast liquid crystal light value that displays memory effect possessed by ferroelectric liquid crystal by applying high frequency AC bias in non-selective period of multiplex driving. CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal light value consists of a signal electrode 301, a scanning electrode 303 and a microshutter 302. A conductive optical mask is applied on the transparent electrode 306 of the signal electrode 301 and scanning electrode 303 excepting the microshutter part 302 to eliminate leak of light excepting the microshutter 302 part and heighten contrast. At the same time, resistance value of the electrode is lowered, and even high frequency signals can be transmitted without causing weakening of waveform. Contrast can be heightened by applying high frequency AC waveform in non- selective period of multiplex driving and thereby preventing deterioration of memory capacity in the non-selective period.</p> |
