PURPOSE:To obtain sufficient developed color even in short time development processing by processing an imagewise exposed photosensitive material with a liquid color-developer containing a specified compound and no benzyl alcohol. CONSTITUTION:The imagewise exposed photosensitive material is processed with a liquid color-developer containing no benzyl alcohol but at least one compounds represented by formula I and II in which each of R<1> and R<2> is H or the like; each of R<3>-R<6> is H or alkyl; R<7> is H, alkyl, or the like; A<1> is a simple sigma-bond or a divalent bonding group; B is COO or SO3<->; each of a and b is a positive integer; A<2> is a divalent organic group; D is a quaternary ammonium; X is an anion; m is 1 or 2; and n is an integer of 1-50.
