PURPOSE:To improve the volumetric efficiency, by forming a discharge valve into a plunger type having a frusto-conical shape at its end. CONSTITUTION:A valve plate 4 is formed with a frusto-conical discharge hole 5 and a cylindrical suction hole 6. A plunger type discharge valve 11 having a frusto-conical shape at its end is inserted at its end into the discharge hole 5. Accordingly, when the discharge valve 11 is closed, a space of the discharge hole 5 is fully filled to eliminate a space where a refrigerant gas remains. Accordingly, no refrigerant gas reexpanding into the cylinder 3 exists, thus improving the volumetric efficiency.
