METHOD FOR REDUCING METALLIC OXIDE

PURPOSE:To increase the internal temp. of a furnace and to accelerate a reduction reaction by plasma-heating a process gas for fluidizing and directly reducing a metallic oxide before feeding into the furnace. CONSTITUTION:Part 19 of a process gas 5 blown into a furnace 1 is plasma- heated 3 at the outside of the furnace 1 before blowing into the furnace 1. The process gas heated to a high temp. is cooled to the optimum temp. by mixing with the remaining process gas 18 or a gas blown from the outside of the system. The resulting process gas 5 is blown into the furnace 1 to keep the inside of the furnace 1 at >=900 deg.C reduction temp. and a metallic oxide 9 is fluidized and reduced.
