PURPOSE:To improve the data compression factor and to prevent the deteriora tion in the picture quality by performing a estimated coding compression processing between main data and giving the estimated coding process to the interpolation data via the main data together with the rough quantizing process. CONSTITUTION:The smoothing process is applied to the original picture data, where the average between the picture data on the noticed picture element and that on those picture elements near the noticed one is defined as the new picture data on the notices picture element. The smoothed picture data is divided into the main data sampled at proper intervals and the interpolation data. Then the estimated coding process is carried out between those main data. While the estimated coding process is applied to the interpolation data to perform the interpolated estimation via the main data together with the quantizing process to roughly quantize the estimation error. This roughly quantized estimation error is coded based on a Huffman code table. |
