PURPOSE:To accumulate information on a medium dispersed therein with surface active agent molecules having the photosensitive group to change the aggregation state of the molecules when irradiated with light by irradiating light to said medium to change the molecules. CONSTITUTION:The material in which the aggregation state of the molecules is changed by the irradiation of light includes a surface active agent having the photosensitive group to change the coupling state or electron state, more particularly polarity and/or shape or structure when irradiated with light. Light 4 adjusted to 488nm by using the 1st light source of the 1st wavelength for accumulation and using an argon laser 3 in the case of an azo benzene deriv. is irradiated via a movable mirror 5 to a cell 2. The medium 1 in the cell 2, when irradiated with said light, changes from the 1st aggregation state prior to the light irradiation to the 2nd aggregation state.
