PURPOSE:To enable calculation of an amplitude value of the amount of input alternating current when the peak value of the amount of input alternating current goes beyond the full scale of an A/D converter, by outputting the result of comparison between the amplitude value of the amount of input alternating current and a specified value to facilitate the calculation for finding this condition. CONSTITUTION:An amplitude value computing unit 1 is made up of an amplitude value computing section 11 and a full scale excess detector section 12. The amplitude value of the amount of input alternating current calculated by the formula is compared with a constant predetermined to detect the excess from the full scale of the peak value of the amount of input alternating current in an A/D converter whereby a correct amplitude value is calculated to find this condition. In this formula, I represents amplitude value of amount of input alternating current, i1, i2... data sample and K constant.
