PURPOSE:To improve the service properties to the receiver side by showing the total quantity of the subsequent undelivered facsimile picture data and the desired time decided by the circuit velocity when a facsimile store-and- forward exchange performs transmission to a facsimile terminal set at the receiver side. CONSTITUTION:The FAX terminals 1-1-1-n are connected to a facsimile store- and-forward exchange 2 via circuit controllers 4-1-4-n. If a request for transmission is given to the FAX terminal 1-1, for example, the picture data are stored in a picture data store device 6 under the control of a center controller 3. Then the telegram control information 9-2 is produced onto the delivery control information 7-1 corresponding to the terminal 1-1. Then the quantity of picture data accepted by the picture data quantity information 11-2 is added to the total picture data quantity information 13-1 after the store position is set for pictures accepted by the stored picture data identification information 12-2. Then the controller 3 transmits the time needed for transmission of all accepted picture data together with the stored picture data as soon as the terminal 1-1 is idle. Thus the terminal 1-1 can know the estimated time point for the end of reception.
