PURPOSE:To enable inspection of the entire inner wall surface of a pipeline, by a method wherein an inspecting device for the inner wall surface of the pipeline is linked to a pneumatic element and then a carrier gas is fed into the pipeline to move forward the pneumatic element and the inspecting device. CONSTITUTION:When inspecting the inner wall of a pipeline, first, a pneumatic element 2 is inserted into one side opening of a pipeline 1 and an inspecting device 3 is linked behind the element with a flexible cord 5. Then, a carrier gas 4 is fed into the pipeline from a compressor or the like while adjusting the pressure to force the pneumatic element 2 forward at a fixed speed. With the forward movement of the pneumatic element 2, the inspecting device 3 is drawn into the pipeline and transfers a video signal to an indicator 8 through a signal cable 9 while running through the pipeline at a specified speed. The position of the inspecting device 3 in the pipeline is calculated from the lead length of a measuring cord 9 and displayed on the indicator 8.
