PURPOSE:To produce a high-hardness rubber whose hardness does not decrease even when it is crosslinked at high temperatures, by thermoforming a specified polybutadiene and an unsaturated carboxylic acid (salt) in the presence of at least two free radical generators of different 1min half-life temperatures. CONSTITUTION:A rubber composition is obtained by mixing 100pts.wt. polybutadiene of a cis-1,4-bond content >=40% with 10-60pts.wt. unsaturated carboxylic acid (salt) (e.g., acrylic acid), 10-70pts.wt. inorganic filler (e.g., ZnO) and 0.1-6pts.wt. at least two free radical generators whose 1min half-life temperatures differ from each other by at least 20 deg.C [e.g., a combination of dicumyl peroxide with 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(t-butylperoxy)hexyne-3]. This rubber composition is packed in a mold and molded by heating to 120-190 deg.C.
