PURPOSE:To enable accurate and easy measurements of angles projecting into the sea and the river and penetrating angle, by detecting and identifying a measured signal level issued out during the course of swinging action of a swing-arm and installing an angle-calculating unit for the angles in the projecting direction and the penetrating angles. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is composed of a swing-arm 13 provided on its end with an ultrasonic-wave range finder and the other end of which is attached free to swing on a projected position of a line of the other end and an angle-calculating unit 17 which detects an identifies a measured signal level issued out from an ultrasonic-wave range finder 14 during the course of swinging actions of the swing-arm and obtains projecting angles and penetrating angles into the sea and the river by picking up the swinging angle of the swing-arm. By this arrangement, for instance, maximum or minimum value of the measured signal value issued out of the ultrasonic-wave range finder during the course of swinging action is detected and identified, and thus, the projecting angles are obtained from the swinging angle of the swing-arm and the penetrating angles from said maximum or minimum value.
