A method and apparatus for correcting line tilt in a video signal is provided. First and second amplitude reference levels of predetermined amplitudes are added to selected time-spaced portions of the video signal. When the signal is received, the levels are measured and the difference between their amplitudes, along with the spacing between them, is used to calculate the line tilt rate and to add in an inverse line tilt function to eliminate the line tilt. This technique can be used in a line segmentation scrambling scheme to eliminate line tilt-induced reconstruction artifacts.
|
