<p>PURPOSE:To enable non-contacting torque detection with reduced temperature effect, by forming two grooves in mutually symmetrical position relation in a ferro-magnetic member, generating an induced electric current in the ferro-magnetic member by the No.1 coil, causing a change of shape of the groove by the strain of the ferro-magnetic member and detecting a leakage magnetic flux generated from the groove by the No.2 coil. CONSTITUTION:A groove 40 tends to shrink or close relative to twisting pressure 36 and a groove 38 expands or open. By measuring differentially, forces of the same magnitude and generated in each discontinuous part in the different directions can easily be determined. Preferably, the one primary coil is used for forming a magnetically-excited magnetic field and the No.2 coil composed of two coils connected differentially for detection of changes of the magnetic flux. In this kind of construction, changes of normal characteristics inflicting a change in the material by temperature is compensated effectually and a strain detecting sensitivity can be doubled.</p> |
