PURPOSE:To obtain the titled resin having a low double refraction, a good balance between heat resistance and mechanical strength and an excellent dimensional stability, comprising methyl methacrylate, tricyclo[5.2.1.0<2>,<6>]dec-8-yl methacrylate and an aromatic vinyl monomer. CONSTITUTION:50-70wt% methyl methacrylate is copolymerized with 15-40wt% tricyclo[5.2.1.0<2>,<6>]dec-8-yl methacrylate and 10-30wt% aromatic vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene) in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator [e.g., 2,2'-azobis(isobutyronitrile)] and a chain transfer agent to obtain a methacrylic resin having a melt flow index of 1-40 and satisfying the formula [wherein x is the content (wt%) of the aromatic vinyl monomer and y is the melt flow index]. |
