NEW MATERIAL:A piperazine derivative expressed by formula I (either one of R<1> and R<2> is methoxy; the other is H; n is 1 or 2) or acid addition salt thereof. EXAMPLE:1-(Pyrrolidinocarbonylmethyl)-4-(2,3,4-trimethoxybenzyl)-piper azine. USE:An excellent antiulcer agent, capable of exhibiting protective factor enhancing action with high safety and low toxicity and preferably administered by oral routes. PREPARATION:For example, as shown in the reaction formula, a compound expressed by formula II is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III in an amount of 1-1.5 equivalents based on the compound expressed by formula II in the presence of a base in a solvent, e.g benzene, etc., at a temperature within the range of room temperature - the boiling point of the solvent to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula I. Potassium carbonate, an organic base, e.g. N,N-dimethylaniline, etc., may be used as the base and the amount thereof used is preferably within the range of 1-1.5 equivalents based on the compound expressed by formula II. |
