PURPOSE:To miniaturize a printer and to reduce power consumption, by driving the rising and falling mechanism of a type wheel and the slide mechanism of a rotary shaft by the same drive source. CONSTITUTION:A carrier 3 movable to the axis direction of a platen 2 is provided on a machine stand 1 and an accommodation chamber 19 having a plurality of type wheels movable to a direction crossing the carrier 3 at a right angle housed therein is mounted on the carrier 3 through a receiving stand 45 and one type wheel to be printed in said receiving housing 19 is upwardly moved by a rising and falling mechanism and the rotary shaft of said wheel is engaged with the wheel by a slide mechanism. Thereafter, the type of the raised wheel is struck by a hammer 175 to perform printing. At this time, the drive source of the rising and falling mechanism and the slide mechanism is made the same and used in common to contribute to the wt. reduction and miniaturization of a printer. |
