PRODUCTION OF MAGNETIC DISK

PURPOSE:To obviate the generation of attraction to a magnetic head without wetting of the lubricating film of a magnetic disk by executing a stage for coating the soln. of a lubricating agent on a magnetic film formed on a nonmagnetic substrate and drying the coating in a dried gas (drying gas). CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk sheet 1 formed with the magnetic layer on the nonmagnetic substrate is put into a housing 5 and is vacuum-chucked to a revolving shaft 2. The drying gas is kept injected constantly into the housing 5 in this stage and the excess drying gas is discharged to the outside. The magnetic disk sheet 1 is rotated in this state by the revolution of the revolving shaft 2 and the magnetic layer of the magnetic disk sheet 1 is exposed to an upper side. The soln. of the lubricating agent supplied to a disperser 3 is successively dropped toward the magnetic layer of the magnetic disk sheet 1. The dropped soln. of the lubricating agent is coated as a uniform film onto the magnetic layer of the magnetic disk sheet 1 by centrifugal force. The magnetic disk 1A prior to drying is removed from the shaft 2 and is conveyed by a belt conveyor 9. The disk is then heated and dried from above and below by two heaters 10, 11. The drying gas is supplied from above to dry the coating film of the lubricating agent.
