VALVE WITH ANTI-CAVITATION FEATURE

The present invention provides for a plurality of ports incorporated into the downstream flange of a valve so as to communicate between the fluid flow passage and the exterior of the valve. Check valves are provided at port openings on the exterior wall of the valve operable to allow air to flow into the flow passage when the liquid pressure is below atmospheric pressure. The admission of air into the flow passage increases the pressure therein whereby cavitation is prevented.
