<p>METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING AND PROTECTING A SEMICONDUCTOR OUTPUT DEVICE A semiconductor output device(l2)connected to a load is monitored and protected from potentially destructive conditions such as short circuits, high current transients, and overload. A sensed voltage signal having a magnitude proportional to the magnitude of the current supplied by the semiconductor output device to the load is compared to a reference voltage. Whenever the reference voltage exceeds the sensed voltage signal, a pulse is triggered to deactivate the semiconductor output device(12).</p> |
