PURPOSE:To reduce frictional resistance, by forming plural semi-spherical concaves on the outer circumference of a worm wheel, receiving spheres via many small spheres in the concaves, and sliding the spheres in the grooves of a Hindolet worm. CONSTITUTION:A worm wheel 6 which is fitted onto a shaft 4 is shaped polygonal-sectionally, and semi-shperical concaves 6a are made on the outer slant face of the outer circumference portions of the wheel. In the respective concaves 6a, spheres 9 which are rollably supported by many small spheres 8 are received. The spheres 9 are held by a retainer which is secured to the slant face by vises. And at the peripheries of the openings of the concaves 6a, enlarged diameter portions are defined, and between the portions and the spheres 9, spaces S of ring in which the small spheres 8 are to roll are defined. These spheres 9 are orderly engaged with the spiral grooves 3a of a Hindolet worm 3, then the shaft 4 is rotated. Therefore, the Hindolet worm and the worm wheel are brought into rolling contact via spheres, so that frictional resistance can be reduced and transmission efficiency can be enhanced. |
