PURPOSE:To attain high speed reading by using a storage time T of each line sensor in common and deviating a shift pulse to each line sensor mutually within the storage time so that an output signal by one line of each line sensor is outputted in a prescribed order. CONSTITUTION:The storage time T of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd line sensors 10A, 20A, 30A is used in common, and shift pulses R-LSYNC,G-LSYNC and B- LSYNC to each line sensor are mutually deviated so that the output signals by one line in each line sensor are outputted in a prescribed order, that is, in the order of red, green and blue signals. Thus, at first, a red signal by one line is outputted, then a green signal by one line is outputted and then a blue signal by one line is outputted, and the time from the start of the output of the red signal till the output end of the blue signal is kept within the storage time T. Thus, high speed reading and improvement of the picture quality of a reproduced picture are attained.
