PURPOSE:To arbitrarily divide variable length printing data to easily allot the divided ones, in a slip printing control system, by providing a printing region allotting indication means, a printing region allotting means and a printing region allotting control means. CONSTITUTION:A printing region allotting control part 2 reads printing data 10 to judge a blank part and controls the transmission of a printing region allotting part 1. The printing region allotting part 1 allots regions having necessary sizes to the start line and start column of the display items on the slip of a printer from the variable length printing data. For example, when one printing data 10 is printed in a state folded in three regions 1-3 over three lines, the section corresponding to each region is delivered to perform layout on an output data memory part 3. If the data corresponding to the third section 3 is empty, the control part 2 stops the allotment to the region 3 in the allotting part 1. By this method, printing layout can be controlled easily.
