PURPOSE:To prevent the winding of a ribbon around the peripheral surface of a pinch roller, in a mechanism pressing the pinch roller to a drive roller to perform the feed of the ribbon, by arranging a ribbon separator in the vicinity of the peripheral surface of the pinch roller. CONSTITUTION:A ribbon 1 is supplied from one end part of a ribbon cartridge 2 and pressed to the printing paper on the peripheral surface of a platen 7 by a printing head 3 to perform desired printing work. At this time, the ribbon 1 is pressed to a drive roller 5 by a pinch roller 4 and guided to the ribbon separator 6 arranged in the vicinity of the outer periphery of the pinch roller 4 to be taken up by the other end part of the ribbon cartridge 2 without winding around the pinch roller 4. By this method, stable ribbon feed can be performed and printing work can be performed efficiently at a high speed. |
