PURPOSE:To improve initial performance and life performance by filling slurrylike paste in a clad type grating body, thereafter steaming it and forming a positive electrode plate for a clad type lead battery. CONSTITUTION:Slurry-like paste is prepared by kneading lead powder or mixture of lead powder and much anisotropic graphite, water and dilute sulfuric acid. Next, this paste is filled in a clad type grating body of a structure that a core metal of lead base alloy is set at the center of a porous tube composed of glass fiber, acid-resistant and oxidation-resistant synthetic fiber and so on, and thereafter it is steam-treated and thus a positive electrode plate for a clad type lead battery is formed. And by steaming, the crystal growth of tribasic lead sulfate existent in inactivated material is hastened and besides tetrabasic lead sulfate is also generated in part. Therefore, the initial performance and life performance of the clad type positive electrode plate can be remarkably improved. |
