摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To stabilize the discharge flow of cut powder for preventing occurrence of flaws and the like on the cut surface of a workpiece so as to improve the cooling effect of a cutting liquid, in a face lathe, by changing the amount of the cutting liquid sprayed from a sprayer according to the change in the peripheral speed of the portion of the workpiece with which the tip of a cutting tool is brought into contact. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 4 is turned at a constant speed by means of a motor 1c as it is held by a chuck 1b, while a table 2a where a tool 3 is fixed is fed in a (a) direction shown by arrows in the attached figure by means of a motor 2c, then the workpiece 4 is cut. A microcomputer 17 detects the change in the peripheral speed of the portion of the workpiece 4 with which the tip of a tool 3 is brought into contact by detecting the rotation of the motor 2c and control the openings of valves 21 and 22 by means of a control circuit 18 and motors 19 and 22. And because the amount of generated ground powder and heat is less at the inner periphery side having a slow peripheral speed and the distance to a duct 5 therefrom is longer, the openings of valves 21 and 22 are thus controlled by the microcomputer 17 such that the amount of a grinding liquid sprayed through a grinding liquid spraying nozzle 13a is made less and the amount of air sprayed from an air spraying nozzle 12 is made more at the inner peripheral side while they are made the other way at the outer peripheral side.</p>
