PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming method capable of directly recording a high density image on a recording member without generating the clogging by an ink, being constituted so that a voltage is applied between a unit electrode and a conductive support to allow the ink of an ink layer to fly toward a recording medium to record an image. CONSTITUTION:A heat-meltable ink layer 2 containing a magnetic powder is formed on a conductive support 1 and a recording electrode 5 equipped with unit electrodes 3 is arranged in the vicinity of said ink layer 2. A recording medium 6 is arranged in opposed relation to the heat-meltable ink layer 2 so as to hold the recording electrode 5 between both of them and, further, a magnetic field exerting magnetic force on the magnetic powder in the recording medium direction is formed between the heat-meltable ink layer 2 and the recording medium 6 and voltage is selectively applied between the unit electrodes 3 and the conductive support 1 corresponding to an image signal to be recorded to allow the ink of the ink layer 2 to fly toward the recording medium 6 to record an image. The magnetic powder mixed with the heat-meltable ink layer 2 exerts action for allowing the ink to straightly advance to the recording medium direction by the magnetic field. Therefore, the magnetic powder diffuses during the flight of the ink to prevent a dot diameter from becoming large. |
