摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium large in the absorbing capacity and speed of ink, good in weldability, little suffering from dusting off and efficient in the clearness of print part, the unevenness of solid print part and the visibility from the back surface of the print part, by a method wherein the pigment of small in specific surface area and large in refractive index is used for a lower layer and the pigment of large in specific surface area and small in refractive index is used for an upper layer. CONSTITUTION:The lowest layer among the coated layers provided on a base material principally consists of white pigment of high in refractive index, low in transparency and little in capacity absorbing ink by comparing it with synthetic particulate silica and binding agent. If the white pigment of 100m<2>/g min. in specific surface area by BET method is used as the principal pigment of the lowest layer, the ink of the receiving layer installed to a layer upper than it is absorbed and the strike through and the color property are disturbed. Then, the ink receiving layer provided to the layer upper than the lowest layer among the coated layers provided on the base material consists of the synthetic particulate silica of low in refractive index, high in transparency, and high in ink absorbing capacity and adhesives. If the refractive index exceeds 1.50, the transparency to an ink jet becomes extremely low and the color property is caused to drop when water color ink is printed.
