PURPOSE:To reduce a load on a HOST side for a failure display, and also, to easily detect a failure, by displaying the bit of bit information of a HOST as a picture, a numeric value, or a character string. CONSTITUTION:A failure bit is sent from a HOST computer connected to a communication line 102 through a line control equipment 110. A bit of sent bit information is stored at areas 104-106 in a storage device 103. Display data for a bit of block information, a bit of numeric value information, and a bit of character string information, are stored at data bases 107-109 respectively. The bit of block information, the bit of numeric value information, and the bit of character string information are registered at a buffer memory 111, then being displayed on a CRT112. The bit of bit information sent through a communication line, after being stored once, is matched with the data base, and an extracted result is stored at a registration buffer, then being displayed on the CRT.
