A device is described for indicating the number of doses dispensed from an aerosol container (2) having an outlet valve member (4) movable relative to the body of the container (2) to dispense its contents in measured doses. Relative movement between the aerosol container body (2) and the outlet member (4) are detected by a ratchet wheel (14) and ratchet driving member (11A) which move with the body and outlet member respectively or vice versa. The ratchet wheel (14) may in turn drive an indicating member in the form of a linear rack (20) or rotatable wheel (116).
