PURPOSE:To obtain an image forming method capable of directly recording a high density image on a recording member without generating the clogging by an ink, constituted so that a heat-meltable ink layer is formed on a conductive support and voltage is selectively applied between each unit electrode and the conductive support corresponding to an image signal to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:A heat-meltable ink layer 2 is formed on a conductive support 1 and a recording electrode 5 having a plurality of unit electrodes 3 is arranged thereon and, further, a recording member 6 is arranged thereon in a superposed state. Pulse like voltages are simultaneously applied to the unit electrodes 3 and the conductive support 1 from power sources 14, 17. By this constitution, discharge is generated between the unit electrodes 3 and the conductive support 1 and a part of the ink layer 2 is evaporated. Ink flies toward the surface of the recording member 6 through a through-hole 10 to record a dot. A feed roll 7 presses the recording member 6 to the electrode 5 and the ink layer 2 is always pressed to a spacer 4 and the interval between each of the unit electrodes 3 and the outer surface of the heat-meltable ink layer 2 is held stably to stabilize discharge. |
