PURPOSE:To appropriately correct an amplifier and enable a reactor to be deliberately driven by calculating the damping factors of the output signals of individual Local Power Range Monitoring System (LPRM) and estimating the life of the same, on the basis of the neutron flux irradiation quantity of the individual LPRM. CONSTITUTION:A neutron irradiation quantity calculation by a neutron irradiation quantity calculator 6 and an amplification factor calculation for amplifiers 4A-4C by an amplifier amplification factor calculator 7 are periodically conducted on LPRMs 3A-3C mounted in a core 2 and resulted performance data are sequentially stored in a memory 8. When an LPRM life estimation request is given, a life calculator 9 is inputted with the performance data from the memory 8 and calculates the maximum neutron irradiation quantity at the amplification factors at the adjusting limits of the amplifiers 4A-4C from expressions indicative of increases in the amplification factors of the amplifiers 4A-4C based on the neutron irradiation quantity and the amplification factors of the amplifiers 4A-4C at a reference time. Further, the relation- ship between the neutron irradiation quantity and an elapsed time is calculated. Then, a time to be the adjusting limit is calculated from above-described calculations and the lives of the LPRMs are estimated.
