<p>PURPOSE:To make uniform orientation possible, to improve the display quality by providing a seal material so that this material is brought into contact with display electrode patterns on both electrode substrates or providing this material on a dummy electrode on the outside of display electrode patterns. CONSTITUTION:Gap materials 5 are scattered on the lower electrode substrate, and a seal material 3 is printed on the upper substrate so that the seal material 3 is arranged as shown in the figure when upper and lower substrates are combined, and upper and lower substrates are combined to constitute an empty cell, and a ferroelectric liquid crystal is enclosed in this cell by the vacuum method, and finally, a charging hole is sealed with an adhesive to obtain a desired liquid crystal display device. Though the oriented state of a ferroelectric liquid crystal panel obtained in this manner is slightly disturbed, an electric field is impressed to the disturbed part to attain uniform orientation.</p> |
