PURPOSE:To prevent trouble such as the damage of a recording mechanism, by performing predetermined error processing when the operation position of a recording hammer exceeds a normal operation range. CONSTITUTION:A stopper is connected to the rear end part of the plunger 62 of the rear part of a recording hammer 60 to extend below a stay 7 and holds a slit plate 64 in parallel to the recording hammer 60. The slit plate 64 is arranged so as to cross the optical axis of a photointerruptor 12 and the position signal of the recording hammer 60 is generated by slits 65a, 65b traversing the optical axis O of the photointerruptor 12 corresponding to the movement of the recording hammer 60. In a normal printing state, a position signal pulse is outputted once respectively in the advance and return paths of the recording hammer 60. In an abnormal state, said signal pulse is generated twice respectively in the advance and return paths of the recording hammer 60 and at least the succeeding driving of the recording hammer is prohibited to prevent the damage of a mechanism. |
