PURPOSE:To accurately control the position of a sheet feed roller even in a specific mode performed by the reversal driving of the sheet feed roller, by stopping the delivery roller of a cut sheet feeder at the time of the recording of a specific printing mode shifting a sheet to a feed direction to perform printing plural times. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the recording of a specific mode shifting a sheet 5 to a feed direction to perform printing plural times, control is performed so as to stop the delivery roller 11 of a cut sheet feeder 8. The stop of the delivery roller 1 is performed by temporarily stopping a feeder motor 9. After the finish of the printing of the specific mode, it is necessary to once return the sheet to the start position of line feed operation, that is, a non-shifted normal position but, in returning the sheet 5 to the normal position, a sheet feed roller 1 is once subjected to excessive return rotation and subsequently rotated to an advance direction to remove the effect of the backlash of a sheet feed transmission mechanism. By this method, the rotary position of the sheet feed roller 1 can be controlled accurately and the printing quality of specific mode printing can be enhanced. |
