PURPOSE:To stabilize the exhibition of a sheet during paper feed, by forming a cam on the base body of a feed roller in a feeder so that the outer peripheral surface of a large diameter section of a feed roller is made into press-contact with the upper surface of sheets at a predetermined position. CONSTITUTION:In a feeder for a printer, there are provided a press plate on which sheets 50 aligned together are loaded, and which is held in a such condition that the sheets are urged toward the front end part of a separating pawl 45, a separating pawl holding member 45 on which the separating pawl 45A is formed at its front end and which is journalled swingably to the support member of the press plate, a feed roller 20 and cam members 211B, 212B, 213B. In association with the swinging operation of the cam members 211B, 212B and 213B, the outer peripheral surface 20b of a large diameter section of a feed roller 20 makes into contact wit the upper surface of the sheets 50 in the tangential direction, that is, the base member 21 of the feed roller for regulating the axial position of the feed roller 20 is formed thereon with the cam members 211B, 212B, 213B, and during paper feed, the cam member 212B rotated together with the feed roller 50 depresses the sheets 50 together with the feed roller 50 depresses the sheets 50 together the member 45, thereby the sheets may be stably fed.
