PURPOSE:To eliminate a crease and a depression trace in a thin sheet and to surely separate thin sheets from each other, by providing a storage section for thin sheets or the like, a pressing member and a rotary means for rotating thin sheets in normal and reverse directions, in a device for separating thin sheets which make in close contact with each other and discharging the same. CONSTITUTION:A storage section 10 in which thin sheets making into close contact with each other, in composed of a surrounding part 12 and a back plate 13. Further, there is formed, on the surrounding section 12, a projecting part 14 preventing the thin sheets from leaping out, and leaf springs 15a, 15b urging the thin sheets. The leaf springs 15a, 15b serving as a separating means, makes into contact with a sheet just therebelow at once when the uppermost sheet is taken out. Further, drive rollers 16a, 16b rotated by a drive section 17 abut against the outer surface of the thin sheets 11 which are urged by the back plate 13. Accordingly, the topmost one of the thin sheets is fed in the direction in which the rollers 16a, 16b are rotated.
