PURPOSE:To obtain the titled developer which is lessened a fall of pH on standing and does not produce a precipitate and is suitable for rapid processing by containing p-phenylene diamine compd. having a water soluble group as the color developing agent, and by containing >=40g carbonate per 1l of the titled developer and a specific compd. in the titled developer. CONSTITUTION:The color developing agent contains p-phenylene diamine compd. having the water soluble group, and >=40g carbonate per 1l of the color devel oper, and contains the compd. shown by the following formula wherein R1 is hydrogen atom, carboxyl or 1-3C alkyl group, R2 is hydrogen atom, carboxyl, 1-3C alkyl or formyl group. The titled developer which is lessened the produc tion of the precipitate and has a large stabilizing effect of pH is obtd. by jointly using the carbonate and the compd. shown by the formula. The used carbonate is preferably potassium carbonate. |
