PURPOSE:To furnish a membrane module with interchangeability with an element of existing precoating filter by exchanging a filter assistant precoating element with a hollow yarn membrane module constituted with a hollow yarn membrane provided on the outer circumference of an inner cylinder and adding a module fixing plate. CONSTITUTION:A hollow yarn membrane module consisting of a hollow yarn membrane 61 and a protecting cylinder 62 installed cylindrically around an inner cylinder 60 is hung down from a module fixing plate 54 inserted between a trunk plate of the existing precoating filter and a cover plate 53, and fixed with a module pressing plate 55. The lower end of module is sealed with its raw liquid and treating water side with a packing 66 and an adaptor cover 67 when the inner cylinder 60 is inserted in an adaptor. Raw liquid such as condensate introduced from a raw liquid inlet tube in the lower section of filter column is passed from the outside to inside of hollow yarn membrane to remove clad. The treating liquid is guided from inside the membrane to the upper section, and after coming out into the upper part of the fixed plate 54, passes the inner cylinder 60 and returned from a treating water outlet at the lower section of filter column into the condensate system or the like.
