PURPOSE:To provide combustion with unburnt fuel such as HC, NOX, whitish blue smoke substantially reduced, by disposing a fuel injection nozzle in which a main jet in a main combustion chamber is adjacent an air introducing path affording communication between a main combustion chamber and a swirl chamber and an auxiliary jet is adjacent the swirl chamber. CONSTITUTION:High temperature compressed air at the terminal period of compression process is pushed into a swirl chamber 7 to generate swirl S1. Also, an air introducing path 8 and the swirl chamber 7 both having the inner walls covered with an adiabatic material 15 have temperatures rapidly raised. On the one hand, in the start of an engine and the low rotational frequency and load running region, only an auxiliary jet 13 is opened, and atomized fuel spray F2 is stirred by a swirl S1 in the swirl chamber 7 to be vaporized and burnt instantly. Burnt gas flows into a main combustion chamber 5 to be again burnt. In the medium and high load running regions, a main jet 14 is also opened to inject large fuel spray F1 into a main combustion chamber 5. Fuel oil spattered by a swirl S2 or the like is vaporized by the high temperature heat of compressed air and wall heat to be fired instantly and burnt without miss fire. Thus, in all load regions for use is provided combustion in which HC, NOX, whitish blue smoke, etc. are substantially reduced.
