PURPOSE:To ensure stable travelling by forming the width of a lower surface section consisting of a ferromagnetic material in a guide rail in size narrower than that of the facing surface of an electromagnet opposite]y faced through an air gap to the lower surface section. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnets 35, 36 and a permanent magnet 37 are used as a magnetic support unit, and magnetomotive force required for levitating a cart 2 to guide rails 10a, 10b constituting a fixing section is fed by the permanent magnet 37. The width of lower surface sections composed of a ferromagnetic material in the guide rails 10a, 10b is shaped in size narrower than that of the facing surfaces of the electromagnets 35, 36 oppositely faced through air gaps to the lower surface sections. Even when external force is applied to the cart 2, a levitated conveyor can be returned to the position of balance in a short time.
