PURPOSE:To form a titled padding for packing having a good rate of natural perforation without deteriorating sinterability by specifying the grain size distribution of a silica sand mixture contg. SiO2 and Al2O3 at a specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:The mixture of the silica sand composed of >=96wt% SiO2 and <=2.0wt% Al2O3 is used for the padding to be packed to a sliding nozzle device to be installed to a ladle, tundish, etc. The grain size distribution of the mixture is specified to 60-75wt% silica sand having >=0.71mm and <1.68mm grain size, 25-40wt% silica sand having >=0.10mm and <0.71 grain size, and <=5wt% silica sand having <0.1mm grain size. The padding to be packed into the sliding nozzle which can make sure natural perforation and does not affect the quality of steel is thereby obtd. |
