PURPOSE:The title yarn that is composed of filaments which have unevenness in fineness in the lengthwise direction, a specific value in the ratio of the maxi mum cross section to the minimum cross section, and is sprinkly colored, bulky and free from unpleasant gloss. CONSTITUTION:The objective yarn is composed of a polyester containing more than 80mol% of ethylene terephthalate units, has 0.7-2.5% of fineness unevenness along the lengthwise direction of the filament (U %), 1.5-2.8 of the maximum to minimum filament cross section ratio, and preferably has a triangular cross section.
