PURPOSE:To obtain a treatment method easily performed even in a home and showing good decomposition efficiency, constituted so that pressure is applied to piled-up raw garbage from above under such a condition that the supply of air is insufficient and the water being exuded is discharged from the bottom part of the piled-up garbage so as not to be stagnated. CONSTITUTION:A container is formed into such a structure that the gap between the lid 2 of a container and the container main body 1 is made proper and the wt. of the lid 2 is made adjustable and, further, a raw garbage throw-in port 4 is provided to the lid 2 and a drain port 12 is provided to the bottom of the main body 1. Raw garbage is successively thrown in the main body 11 from the throw-in port 4 and an inner lid 3 is preliminarily threaded with said throw-in port 4. When the raw garbage is repeatedly thrown in to be accumulated, the wt. of the lid 2 is applied to the garbage as constant pressure. Not only the increase in a volume and pressurization due to the accumulation of the raw garbage and the advance in the decomposition of the raw garbage and the reduction in the volume by decomposition bacteria advance but also the position of the lid 2 gradually rises and, when said lid 2 reaches the upper limit, the separated residue of the raw garbage accumulated in the container is taken out and discarded. During this period, water is successively discharged from a drain port 12.
