PURPOSE:To improve the workability by providing a recessed part or a narrow hole for penetrating the tip surface and the side face, on the tip surface of an ultrasonic chip, and making this recessed part or narrow hole hold a molten solder. CONSTITUTION:A ferrule 11 is installed to a fixing member 9, and locked to a slider shaft 14 by a pin 13 in a position where its tip is exposed a little from a heater 8. When a solid-shaped solder 1 is made to contact an ultrasonic chip 2, the solder is melted and held in a recessed part 3. Subsequently, when the tip surface of the ultrasonic chip is made to abut on an end face 32 of the ferrule and maintained, a through-hole 31 of the ferrule is packed with the molten solder by an ultrasonic vibration. An optical fiber 12 is made to pass through the through-hole 31 of the ferrule and inserted until its tip is projected from the end face 32 of the ferrule. Next, when the mixing member 9 is moved to the right, the solder is cooled, and the ferrule and the optical fiber are soldered.
