CONNECTOR FOR LIGHT TRANSMITTER/RECEIVER

PURPOSE:To attain optical transmission in space by providing the titled connector with attachments constituted of a material having a large transmission loss in a wavelength band less than light emission wavelength included in a light emitting element in an optical transmitter. CONSTITUTION:The attachments 8 formed by resin or glass are screwed onto or press-fitted in receptacles 7 for a light transmitter 4 and a light receiver 5 mounted on circuit substrates 2, 3 in an apparatus 1 so as to surround the outside of the receptacles. The optical characteristics of the attachments 8 are provided with visual light cutting filter characteristics increasing the transmission loss in the wavelength band less that the light emission wavelength included in the light emitting element of the light transmitter 4 to prevent the light receiver 5 from the input of disturbance visual light and malfunction due to the disturbance light. Consequently, light can be transmitted in the space between the light transmitter and the light receiver and an optical fiber connector or a drawing space for an optical fiber can be omitted.
